The birth of this practice is attributed to the friendship that existed between the members of CASI and the founders of CUBA.[3] The first captain of CUBA, coming from CASI, was Oscar Meana, who in 1919 and joined to promote the sport to young people.
His first official match was on May 15, 1921 and he defeated Huemac 11-0 at the Metropolitan Club’s field in Santos Lugares in the Second Division Tournament, where he became undefeated champion and was promoted to the First Division. It only had two players who had played rugby before, captain Julio Dellepiane Rawson and Rodolfo de Surra Canard, the former played for CASI in 1918 and the latter for Eastbourne College in England.[4] CUBA won 13 other championships in 1918.
CUBA won 13 other championships, four of them shared with other clubs, in 1949 with CASI, 1950 with Pucará, 1968 with Belgrano Athletic and 1970 with SIC, since at that time, as there was equality in points, the championship was given to both institutions, there was no final between them.
