Bob Bicknell-Knight (b. Suffolk, UK) is an artist, curator and writer working in various media including installation, sculpture, video and digital media. His work is influenced by surveillance capitalism and responds to the hyper-consumerism of the internet. Utopia, dystopia, automation, surveillance and digitization of the self are some of the themes that emerge through his critical examination of contemporary technologies.
Recently, he has been doing a series of projects, from investigating how drone technology is slowly reshaping humanity to depicting tech billionaires as trophy hunters, as well as creating a body of work on the multinational tech company, Amazon, and its treatment of its employees within. La Universidad de las Artes de Londres es una universidad colegiada de Londres, Inglaterra, especializada en artes, diseño, moda y artes escénicas[3]. Es una federación de seis colegios de artes: Camberwell College of Arts, Central Saint Martins, Chelsea College of Arts, London College of Communication, London College of Fashion y Wimbledon College of Arts. Se constituyó como universidad en 2003 y adoptó su nombre actual en 2004.
La universidad tiene su origen en siete escuelas superiores de arte, diseño, moda y medios de comunicación, anteriormente independientes, que se unieron a efectos administrativos para formar el Instituto de Londres en 1986[4]: Saint Martin’s School of Art; Chelsea School of Art; London College of Printing; Central School of Art and Design; Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts; College for Distributive Trades; y London College of Fashion[5].
Tras la jubilación de William Stubbs como rector en 2001, se nombró a Sir Michael Bichard, quien animó al London Institute a solicitar el estatus de universidad. En un principio, el Instituto de Londres optó por no solicitarlo porque sus colegios individuales estaban reconocidos internacionalmente por derecho propio[6]. En 2003, el Instituto de Londres recibió la aprobación del Consejo Privado para obtener el estatus de universidad; en 2004 pasó a llamarse Universidad de las Artes de Londres[7].
